Marengo Union Jr. Tackle Football Club 2008 Year End Information Another season has come and gone and it
seems like just yesterday that we were gearing up for the 1st week
of practice. Our football and
cheerleading program is continually growing, both in number of participants,
and things learned each new season – good and bad. This club was founded 27 years ago by a group
of merchants looking to provide a football program to our youth. Since our club was the only one in the area, we
provided a football program not only for Union and Marengo area youth, but also
to kids from Hampshire, Huntley, and Woodstock.
Our program has grown from (1) Heavyweight level consisting of 11, 12
and 13 year olds to our present structure of 6 levels and a cheerleading program. Many of our past players have continued on
with their football careers into High School taking their teams to 1 state
final, numerous state semi and quarterfinals, and over a dozen state playoff
appearances. We applaud our coaches and all our volunteers
for their dedication and commitment not only to the sport of football, but also
to our area youth and communities. Many,
many hours go into each and every year immediately starting at the end of the
present season. If you are interested in
serving in a larger capacity next season, please contact a Board Officer or
Director. Thank You!
